We are a chapter of PEN American Center, part of a global association of writers celebrating literature and defending free expression. We make our home at the MIT School of Humanities, Arts & Social Sciences.

Ottessa Moshfegh

Ottessa Moshfegh won the 2016 PEN/Hemingway Award for her novel Eileen (Penguin). In selecting Ms. Moshfegh, this year’s judges—authors Alexandra Marshall, Jay Parini, and former PEN/Hemingway winner Joshua Ferris—praised Ms. Moshfegh for her “prowess and her promise.”
