The L. L. Winship/PEN New England Award

The PEN New England/L.L. Winship Awards, established by The Boston Globe in 1975, and co-sponsored by PEN New England, award the best book of fiction, nonfiction, and poetry by a New England author or with a New England setting. Previous winners of the L.L. Winship Award include E.B. White, Andre Dubus, Susan Cheever, Tracy Kidder, Mary Oliver, Susan Quinn, Jill Ker Conway, Jan Swafford, Anita Shreve, Edward Delaney, Swanee Hunt, Kevin Goodan, Stanley Kunitz, Leo Damrosch, Jennifer Haigh, K.C. Frederick, Louise Glück, Sebastian Junger, Rishi Reddi, Ann Killough, and Kristen Laine.

Last year's L. L. Winship / PEN winners were Margot Livesey for The House on Fortune Street, Patrick Tracey for Stalking Irish Madness, and Nancy K. Pearson for Two Minutes of Light.

The award will be presented at the John F. Kennedy Library in Boston on Sunday, March 28, 2010. The ceremony is co-sponsored by the library and The Boston Globe.
